I Think The Dyno Was Wrong.
Well I finally got to dyno today and I think it was off. From what I understand they never even loaded it. My first pull was 569hp and 1080Tq. I ran the ADR comp1 pl10, no smarty and sprayed a 60-70hp shot of nitrous. Then the guy said My tire was hanging half way off on one side and I couldnt make another pull with those tires. that initially gave me hope that it was dragging but it looked like it had spun on the roller. I pulled off and ended up putting stock tires on since I drove almost 3 hours to go. The next three pulls were all right above 540hp with nitrous then the last was only like 471Hp with no spray. Call me crazy but wouldnt it take more than 471Hp tp propel my truck to a 12.85 1/4 mile on fuel only? I was really expecting to be over 600 on spray.

It looks Like a heavier run that your numbers. After our conversation , I got to thinkin about it, Look at all my dynojet runs , I'll post up the videos. You can compare from there. Secondly, It dosent look like the truck was very straight. It's hard to say though, The atmosphere has alot to do with the run, What was the weather like?

the horsepower calculator on compd says around 550hp if your runnin a 12.85

I appreciate it guys and I'll agree with that calculator anytime. But the fact that i didnt use nitrous to run that 12.85 and I had to to make the 569 doesnt add up to me.

No, Normally dynojets are what most diesel's base their number on. The mustang reads lower, the dynocomm's and other's can be set to read much higher!
Compared with other setups pete's numbers do sound a little low. Maybe not that much low but still a little low. Secondly, He's not using a very big nitrous setup! I'm thinking maybe around 40 low |

Well I think I have figured it out partially. After talking to Tommy I only used 1lb of nitrous out of the bottle. It did have a hissing leah so I'm supposing that that could be where the 1lb went. Looking at the vids on the 475 run that I thought was the only fuel only run the truck down shifted so that could account for the lower # on that run if the solenoid never opened on any of the runs. I ran a 12.71 1/4 mile on fuel only tonight so Either way I think the 475 is bogus.

Personally...I only care about what it runs at the track!!
Dynos are good for tuning and to see if an upgrade made a difference but so is the track. ET's and MPH don't lie......but don't tell John_P I said that I don't like dyno's:ok1: |

I do have to say that his truck is consistent on the dyno and the only time I tried to dyno mine my numbers sucked:argh: I'll stick to the track. |
I wouldnt worry about that dyno david. Did you ever get that fueling thing figured out?

Yeah...it was dropping fuel pressure like crazy on the dyno and I bought a FASS but haven't installed it yet.
I installed a full return regulated fuel system on the truck when I put larger sticks in it and it will drop pressure anything over 1/2 throttle with a race tune in it. Gotta get my lazy butt busy and install the Fass....John has offered to help me but I always have something going on:argh: I built the race truck and just put the diesel on the back burner for now |

My truck really isn't fast enough to play with most of those guys plus I'm still on stock headgaskets and trans.
I don't want to spray it enough to keep up cause the trans will not be able to handle it for long. I'm shooting for mid 5's in the 1/8th with my race truck and to me it is more fun than the diesel.....I know John doesn't like to hear that though...lol |

My original goal was to get into the 12's with my diesel and I did that last June and I just don't see the need to keep pushing it. I truly feel like the truck will run some mid to low 12's the way it is now. |
