mkriebs 12-26-2012 11:02 AM

The only way that Excursion could get any better is if it had a real (Cummins) motor in it...

Regardless, it still got my vote (and not because the ladies)! :pca1:

cdiesel 12-26-2012 02:21 PM

I have to say I am hurt some of you have gone to face book to get votes...

Nah, cummins is overplayed and over rated. The only engine swap should be a 6.4 but why when a nice 7.3 is already installed.

Very nice ride!:tu:

You have to be PowerJoking !

a B series will beat any Powerstroke hands down in reliability...

DeStroking a Ford is the best thing that could happen, and that 6.4 is not that much better than your previous 6.0 POS !

7.3 is the best motor they had, but it will NEVER be better than a B series Cummins... EVER !

Counting out the #53 blocks.... but they aren't even that prone to fail...

cdiesel 12-30-2012 10:22 PM

What a close finish! Thank you to everyone who voted. Especially for the 41 votes my rig received. I'm proud of my grocery-getter and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Congratulations to January's Truck of the Month.

Those are 1000hp-1200hp trucks with many custom built parts. Those trucks are not expected to last. From a reliability stand point, the 12v cummins is one and the 7.3 powerstroke is number two. When reliability is discussed, a 6.0 and 6.4 are at that bottom. Ill admit the 6.0 got alot of bad flack from the earlier motors that rolled out but enough people have had problems with them that its common knowledge that they can be problamatic. Same as the 24v Cummins because of the VP-44 injection pump. Difference is it takes one piece of equipment to fix that and I dont have to lift the cab to install it. I know some 6.0 owners are very sensitive so I tried to be as nice as possible.:pca1:

Remember you can want power. reliability, and low cost but you can only have 2 out of three. :tu::c:
