I take off the nerf bars & aluminum wheels, put on the steel wheels& running boards. They really help to keep the sand out of the doorjambs. The truck is pressure washed after every plow session, greased every other & hand washed& waxed often,SALT SUCKS!!! Can't forget my 5 yr. old co pilot JOHNNY!!!!

Nice truck. I remember my uncle used to pick me up in the middle of the night to help him plow, I skipped alot of school to help load salt hoppers and shovel sidewalks started when I was like 13-14 and been doing it ever since, haven't lately with working shift worn and no snow lol.

Too bad you're not gonna get any snow, I spent 600 fixing brakes and exhaust on my plow truck and have plowed once. :c:

Yea guys doing contracts this year are making out good but they deserve it after last year. I spent 600 on my plow truck to get it ready this year and have plowed once, sucks but if I didn't you know it would have snowed every day. :c:

Yea good prep is a must, Igrease it just about every time I go out. Hey Tireman 9669 I went to a vintage snowmobile show in Pavillion NY 2 yrs ago. Winter here was 48 hrs on 48 hrs off, kind of like a firemans work schedule! suppoedly we got 40+ inches for the season I guess seems moer like 20! It might as well just warm up for good now!

Red_Rattler 03-04-2012 12:25 PM

Yup I hear ya there! Plowed 7" fri night and another 1" today and it's gonna be 54 on tues... This winter has been a tough one for sure.

tiremann9669 03-04-2012 06:27 PM

Havn't had a 7'' fall all season most we got at my house was 5. dosn't seem like 40 because every time it snows an inch or 2 it melts. Pavillion is about 30 minutes from my house. :c:

Me? Fing hilarious, The plow I installed is on the farm truck so my dad always wants to use it. I just sit back and laugh... He taught me to plow snow with a 2wd dualie when I was 5, Since then I've been a firm believer of using 2wd unless you need 4x4, he goes out and beats the hell out of that 05 in 4x4 then to piss him off I take the quad out with bald tires and fix his mess. Hell I even pulled him out once this year with my 2wd diesel.
