Make it look light!

Hello I'm using my truck foir tree surgery chipping into the back of it with greedy boards in the sides, the trouble is when full upw ith chips around 5 cubic meters and towing the chipper it looks like its about to try anbd pop a wheelie! Of course the cummins pulls the load no worries but it is way over weight for th elaws in England and the back sits so low the feds might start asking questions one day.
So I'm just looking for a good cheap way to make th eback of the truck sit higher with a load on. Ideally i'd like to use blocks under the springs to raise them, as i can make these at home easily, but would lift shackles be better? Shackles are cheap but gettingthem imported is pricey so i'm keen to go with the block idea, or any budget ways you guys have of helping the springs take a load?

Thanks, Bill

they make air bags that go between your spring and the frame. some sit over the axel and ride on the bump stop. also some models are adjustabe.

I saw some of these on ebay but all the kits came without compressor, How much do you think a full airbag kit for the rear would cost me? Trouble is postage kills me on anything remotely heavy so i'm looking more at the best of things i can fabricate here.

I'm not sure that adding block is going to help your situation. If you add then you will even out with a load bit it will sit with a raked angle without a load. I vote for airbags also. A friend had them on his chevy. Didn't even know they were there, and they ride good. If the weight is gonna kill you in shipping then get a set without a compressor. save a little weight. just my .02. :c:

the bags dont take much air to fill. just carry a air tank. 5 gallon air tank is plenty.

Yeahh these kits aren't too pricey actually, What do you guys think of this one?

I don't think that includes a compressor, can someone link me to a suitable compressor please.
