Kind of an expensive raking tractor no??

FarmDiesel 06-27-2009 06:36 PM

Well, it cuts the need for 1 extra person, Ive got my tools and a ride at the same time. :rocking: So its pretty effective in the long run.

Hey, whatever you got to tell yourself :c:

I just can't help but think that would be awful rough driving around in the field with pickup tires. Must not use corrugations down there?

FarmDiesel 06-28-2009 09:59 PM

We have been running trucks in the field like this for about 30 years at my family business, only real problem is cleaning the radiator/condenser Etc. But its nothing an air gun cant fix.

Ahh, must be custom haying? Now it's all starting to make sense:ok1:

Yeah, we mainly use trucks in the long distance 1 baler jobs, but when we get 3 balers together, we usually put a tractor on the wheel rakes and a truck as backup... Seeing as how the average raking tractor is cabless (hot and a bee hazard) and cant move over 15mph when the ground driven NH rakes can go 22mph and the tonutti wheel rakes can go about 45mph.
Today we have 3 8130/IVTs baling with 567 balers, a 7830 on the wheel rakes and a
00 7.3L dually on the rakes you see in the picture.

P.S. the main reason I like to rake with my truck is cold A/C Good tunes, cold beer right there in the back and its often smoother then a tractor :5:

You need to get rid of the Deer baler and get a Super M then you can crank up the IVT's :choochoo:

FarmDiesel 07-06-2009 12:28 PM

Those are highway speeds by the way. The double rakes can only rake like 8mph tops. And the wheel rakes can rake like 12 mph. If the field is smooth enough that is.

Super M? I bet that would be hard to get parts for. Dont think ive heard of anyone anywhere near here selling those. Besides the John Deere balers have been good to us.
We run 3 567 Mega wides with net wrap and kickers... Only problem so far would be the faulty off brand netwrap we bought once. :argh:
