545 allison
Can anyone point me to a source to find the specs and particularly the gear ratio's? I am trying to decide if it will work well in to swap one in behind a 6bt swap into an 90's body style 4 door ford. Also does anyone make an adaptor for a transfer case to the allison?

I think they were common in school busses, so just find a complete buss and swap everything over.

I know they are common in school busses, and were typically behind either a chevy 427 or a 6bt cummins which is what I have. I can find them on ebay for about $700 all day. I am interested in some specs so I can decide if I like the gear ratios, and such. I think that 4th gear is still only 1:1, and that is final drive. That would be about the same as using my nv4500, and removing 5th gear. Then in an obs ford, with probably a 410 rear gear, it might be a power house, but way too slow.

Thanks for the link Chumley, but it is what I thought I had figured out. I think I need to find a 5 or 6 speed model, because otherwise I would loose od. Not to mention, the 545 is just not quite capable of the hp and torque I want to send to her.
