pump conversion.
Is there a way to convert an older cummins to a p pump? I might have a chance to purchace an 89 dodge, but want a p pump for my conversion into my ford.
|
yes it requires allmost all the same parts as a vp44 to ppump swap so most of the tech that a search for that will bring up will help you out
|
may i inquire as to why you want to do this? are you planning on making mega horsepower? from what ive been reading, thats the only real reason to do it.
|
I want to make 500hp reliably. From what I know, this maxes out the older style 5.9
|
well, it would probably cheaper finding a trashed bodied, 94-98 dodge 2wd rig that has a decent engine than trying to piece it all together. at least thats my thinking. or maybe a fleabay or craigslist finding

I have been looking for quite awhile with no luck. I'm not in a hurry, but I'd like to get it it so I can go through it before my conversion project starts. I will just have to be patient awhile longer. Thanks for the input.

P pump stuff
E Bay is where you can get all of the stuff ( p pump, pump gear, lines, injectors, front timing cover, throtle linkage, and timing case) and if you want to get rid of your rotary pump and lines and cover and the rest of the bs pm and I'll buy it off you!
I have converted several, so look for a 97 or 98 p pump to build cheep power! PM me if you have questions ! |

05 Super Duty
You cant see the 4 door cab cause it is above the frame on the hoist! This was is probably the best way to do a cummins conversion if you have a hoist that you can tie up for a month or two ! :pca1::pca1:
