99 Superduty 12v tach?
Wondering how some of the fummins guys are running there tachs. I know fordcummins says to use a 7.3/6.9 idi rpm sensor and wire to the s/d tach wire. I was just wondering if any of ya guys are running anything different, like the 1st gen crank sensor. All input is appreciated

tach sense
here is a quote I found I think it was on the ford site
Quote:Ohh yea I also ground two notches in the balancer for a total of four. I just got mine figured out today.. U can use the crank or cam sensor from the v10. i used the cam sensor off of the ford v10 and made a bracket to hold the sensor. i tied one sensor wire into the dark green wire that was one of the wires that originaly attached to the cam sensor. the other sensor wire goes to ground. pulled the inner fender well on the drivers side and located the pcm plug and unbolted it. located the #85 wire that is dark green and located the #48 wire that is white with a pink stripe and cut them both and tied them together on the harness side not the pcm side. plugged and bolted the pcm plug. cranked the truck and walla a working tach. this was on a 99 f250 with a v10 let us all know how it comes out Dennis |
Crap, I sold the v10 so I have no sensors. Thanks for the info
