Cross member clearance for 6BT swap

I am swapping a 99 6BT for the 454 in my 89 chevy longbed 4dr 2WD pickup.
I have been told to anticipate having to cut out some of the cross member
to make clearance for the harmonic balancer and AC pump.
Has anyone found a way to not have to do this?
Thanks :)

I know you can relocate the ac Cummins Mid mount A/C kit

like andre pointed out....the midmount setup. That is what I did, although I found a 97 Ford L7000 truck at a big truck shop's "junkyard" and pulled the whole setup.....cast iron bracket, AC comp, alternator, tensioner, etc....everything and paid 100 bucks. (actually, did some trading and no money changed hands) I didn;t use the Ford alternator...switched to a GM 140 amp. I did have to do some minor modification because the Ford setup had the top rad hose outlet pointing straight up and the Dodge one on my engine pointed forward and then turned 90 degrees towards teh drivers side.
There are some other alternatives for the AC. I think Autoworld has a setup that keeps the comp in the original GM position.....top drivers side of engine. Hmmmm......where else.....I know there are several options....just have to search some more.
I didn;t want to cut my frame. Thats the easy way out for sure, but I wouldn't want to do it. I had a similer situation when I put the B3.9 Cummins into my 72 Bronco. Everybody cuts the frame to make room for the starter. I ddint want to do that and I machined a whole neew starter housing and clocked the starter up. No chop chop the frame at any cost...lol
