swapping my 6.7 out for a 7.0 or cummins
Does anyone know where i can find any info on these engine swaps? My dad has had noting but trouble with his 6.7 and is looking to swap it out for either a Cummins or an older 7.0 powerstroke engine. Any info/pointers/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |
A 2005 Ford should be a 6.0. Ford never had a 7.0 it was a 7.3. Welcome BTW. :c:

ok, thanks for the correction. Im going to have to get some more info off of him for sure. But I know he wants to get rid of his 6.0. And wants to put either a cummins or a 7.3 in it.
And thanks for the welcome, as well |
are u going to use your truck for pulling or performance. i would go with a cummins a lot easier to work on.

He uses it alot for hauling equipment and stuff like that. I know he said about going with a cummins, but they are really hard to get ahold of.
|
just buy a beat up dodge truck, being in a dodge makes cummins engines affordable.:)

i just got more info off of my dad. He has an '05 superduty f350, and wants to put a 7.3 into his truck. does anyone know of anyplace to get info for this?

That seems absurd. If anything, throw in a 5.9 common rail cummins. I've also seen some superdutys with a DT360 International motor in them. The DT will withstand far more abuse than a cummins will. The crank out of the 360 makes the 5.9 crank look like it belongs in a toyota. Contact Carson Stauffer for info on the DT360 swap, or for cummins swaps you can contact destroked.com, I would stay away from Fordcummins.com

Why would you want to go backward's on power you have a power choke now n you want to put another in it's place be alot easier to swap in a 5.9 Cummin's all your headaches will be taken care of :scare2::scare2::scare2:
