Howdy, how much trouble/money would it be to put a 12 valve or commonrail in my 99?Just trying to weigh all options.

Red_Rattler 07-12-2011 12:31 AM

ahhh p pump the 24v... what are u after or is the 24v gernaded? :humm:

BOOGERED 07-12-2011 12:57 AM

blowing oil @ 200k

I just want a dependable 400hp work truck.

Red_Rattler 07-12-2011 01:02 AM

Then I'd def leave it vp powered with a good aftermarket lift pump and a good tune with a nice built tranny (goerend) and you'll still be money ahead and have a solid truck.

BOOGERED 07-12-2011 01:44 AM

BUT I'M BLOWING OIL @ 200K MILES,INSTEAD OF REBUILDING MY 24V THOUGHT I'D LOOK AT SWAPPING

H.R.D 07-12-2011 02:03 AM

For simplicity 12v or rebuild what you have now.
For power either Ppumped 24v or a CR.

Wouldn't it be better/cheaper to rebuild the 24v than to purchase a used (probably 300k mile) 12v motor?

BOOGERED 07-19-2011 07:20 PM

THAT'S AT THE TOP OF MY LIST,TO REBUILD MY 24V.IT ONLY USES A LITTLE OIL IF I'M LOADED BUT I DON'T WANNA PUT INJECTORS AND A TUNER AND CHANCE BLOWING UP
