ford cummins clutch master cylinder question
 

In the ford cummins manual it says "for 92 threw 97 trucks will need a different master cylinder from an older ford to be able to displace enough fluid for the slave cylinder on the nv 4500". My question is what do they mean by older ford? Tried contacting them but never have any luck. Any help greatly appreciated.

I used a clutch master for an 85 landcruiser. Larger 3/4 piston than the pickup 5/8 master, easy mounting

my 88 master works perfect with the dodge 91 slave.

I ended up using the Dodge master and slave :humm:

really, did you try the dodge/ford combo first?

No I didnt even try that. Since the Ford Cummins manual said it might not work with the stocker, I went ahead and just switched it all over. Saved me the trouble of bleeding it out since I switched it over as one whole unit, and didnt require much work to get it all hooked up.

i see, well i went at it with no instructions and a plan to spend 0 dollars over the cost of my donor truck, but what ever works:)

Well thats basically what I did as far as cost, I just used the assembly I had on my donor truck. I think I only spent right at a thousand over the cost of my donor truck, and well over that was made back by selling my old engine and tranny, and parts off the donor truck. $500 of that was the kit from FordCummins, which really isnt necessary to do this swap, but helpful.

Not tryin to be a jerk and thread jack you man, but I'm also looking at converting my 95 F150 to the better side. I can probably score an entire donor around here, lots of used ranch p/u's. Question is, Is it easier to just swap everything over into my p/u and get custom driveshafts made or get adapters an such to use the oe tranny? Again, sorry to thread jack man, just thought I'd ask. :c:
