1952 Ford F3 Cummins

I'm new to the site so hello. I have a 1952 Ford F3 that I'm planning on putting a 6bt in. I found a motor and plan on going to look at it sunday. What are the main things I need to look for? He said the motor has 40,000 miles on a full rebuild. It's a 12v.

Anther question: My truck has a C channel frame. Will I need to box in the front end? Can I just use braces?

WELCOME! You will like it here. That's a cool body style,I would like to do the F1 some day. As for the frame, I'm thinking it is fairly stout, isn,t that the 1 1/2 ton with 20in wheels? I would think just bracing in the areas that the engine mounts. Post some pix so we can drool!

Here's the truck I want to do the conversion to.

Nice! I thought it was the heavier duty truck, so the frame may have to be reinforced. I must be thinking of the F5 and F6.

Would boxing in the front part of the frame be strong enough?

I picked up my motor last night. It doesn't have the flywheel housing on it though. Where would be a good place to pick one up?
