Way too much work. You will need everything from dash cluster to computer to complete harness and locating a second batt in a remote location like the factory did. diesels had a th400 where as your 350 has a turbo350 trans, different drive shaft and the list continues...

As far as bolting up a 6.5 will bolt to the trans you have and to the motor mounts. In 01 all the trans. will be electronically controlled. Being a 1 ton if it has O/D it will most likely be a 4l80e which is what you would want but getting the weiring figured out to get everything working would be a nightmare unless you just want to gut the whole engine and trans and go with something older and rig everything else to work. I would ether fix what you have or buy a diesel van. No swap to a different engine is ever easy no matter what is said out there and some are worse than others and being you are trying to put a computer controlled engine in a different computer controlled van I would say this one would be on the worse side of that.
