6BT DIESEL SWAP IN TO 95 BURB

Hey guys im new to this cite and anything diesel ive rebuilt gassers but never a diesel. Im really interested in the 6bt swap.
so i have a few ideas and was wondering what i should go with.
should i go with the 6bt?
if i do should i also use the tranny and tcase(from the dodge motor) so i can use a chevy front axle for a future SAS?
and how hard is it to wire the motor to the GM stuff? what will i have to to for the tranny computer?
Will all the gauges work?
if im in the wrong area for this thread im sorry

i don't know if jk_auto is still on the forums anymore, but he did it. No sas, did a 12 valve, 47re with the ats full controller, dodge 241. He used autoworldmt mounts. If you want to do a chevy axle for the sas, you need passenger side drop. For the auto I think your looking at a 205 out of a 1st gen cummins auto.
Tach is a whore, everything else just takes patience and research. I'd plan on getting a ford hp d60 or even run a superduty front if your looking at the sas down the road.

Yea but ford d60s are so dam exspensive and yea i figured id have to do those mounts. The tach problem is solved by useing the GM alternator with special brackets. but what do i do with my injector wires, TPS sensor wires and all the tbi stuff? and what about the temp sensor and o2 sensor... do i still use them?

Yeah they are. I was on the same page as you, but now sometimes I wish I'd just spent an extra $500 and bought a ford kingpin D60. I have a friend back in cali that did the same swap and used a superduty axle and he hasn't had any problems with it. If you can deal with limited wheel selection (finding the same wheel with different bolt pattern) that's an option too.
It kinda depends what you want. If you wanna be a hardcore chevy pole smoker like me, use passenger side drop. If you want something easy to set up and find parts for, use a drivers drop.
I still have my chevy alt on the shelf, built a bracket for it but never implemented it. I was in highschool working part time when i did mine and my fab time was cheaper than parts, but if you can get a decent budget, I'd buy the mounts. Specifically, buy the autoworld stuff for the motor, buy an ORU setup for the axle. The longer springs ride a lot nicer. If you have the time and skill, you can make it all, but it'd be a hell of a lot easier to buy them.
Mine was a 6.5 to begin with so it was different, but for the most part, the 12 valve only requires a run and start wire to the fuel pump and charging system wiring. The temp sensor you just keep the chevy one and get a thread adapter to put it in the cummins. You can do the same thing with oil pressure. Voltage should just work off the bat. Speedo is just however you want to do it depending on what t case you wind up with.
