1968 chevy
i'm trying to build the truck off of the latest fast and furious. they said that it was a 67 but my brother has a 68 cab and chassis one ton. i also can get a 96 powerstroke that has a great motor in it for 1500 bucks. but i also have been thinking of putting a 98 12 valve in it. i have some experience with powerstrokes and i could do everything myself. so my real question is if you were in my shoes what would you do?
|
depends on what your goals are really, the 12 valve might be cheaper if your are going for big power, but the powerstroke is still a damn good motor and can still be done up easily
|
i'm kind of biased but i've driven a lot of 7.3s and it seems to me there a little bit more reliable
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- also need advice on a tranny once i decide on a motor |
dont get me wrong i love my 7.3, a 12 valve would just be more simple to put in there seems how there isn't much wiring

|
i'm not that familiar with that tranny but i know i would rather have a standard

Nv4500 is a 5-speed from a 3/4 to a 1 ton.

It really depends on what you're going to be doing. If you plan on doing a lot of towing and have the money go with the NV5600. If not, then go with the NV4500. |

I like the 7.3 just fine but is no way more reliable than a 12v.
