Cummins Motor Mounts

I know before i took the cummins out for the F 350 I broke both motor mounts along with getting the trans stuck in 4th i prety much beat the truck i need to order material to build the motor mounts for putin the cummins in my ford i have heard bad stuff both about the ford cummins mounts and the autoworld mounts i have made motor mounts for gas engines before using a polyurethane isolator somthing like this... http://www.autofab.com/350chevy_jeepmts.JPG

would that be enough isolation

I"m currently researching mounts aswell. I'd be curious of the findings. TTT

I would feel the bushings should be bigger! Your talking about alot of torque!

I used 1st generation Dodge 6BT motor mounts.

Buying them from Autoworld of MT is cheap insurance IMO. If you can't afford to spend the $400 on a high quality product that is proven than possible this swap isn't for you...

I made my own mounts for my cummins to ford swap...it took alot more time than expecting and wasen't really worth all the cutting, welding, measuring and doing it all over again theme. Next swap im just buying the adapter plates from destroked & will buy the pre fabbed mounts from autoworld of MT. fordcummins.com copied everything he has/had from autoworld. Can't beat dawna and kent's customer service @ autoworld

j10diesel, did the 1st gen mounts fit in the crossmember, or did you fab something to ride on top of the frame

I used the factory Cummins bushings and built my own mounts out of 1/2" angle and flat bar, so far no problems. Mine sit on top of the frame.

Here is my second attempt at Fummins motor mounts:

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...Picture048.jpg

I used all 3/8" plate, and some big super stiff bushings I found at Ballistic Fabrication. I welded some ears to the crossmember to bolt up to. So, far they've worked pretty slick...hardly any engine twist at all due to torque. Not the greatest design, but it works. :w2:

what do you torque the mounting bolts to - just curious:s:

92 cummins f250, those mounts look perfect for the setup I'm going to have in my 75 f250. What size angle iron is that? I'm hopefully going to be using 3 inch by 3/8 flat bar and I ordered 4x4x3/8 angle but your angle looks much larger. Hopefully I will not have any problems with bending due to my stuff being 1/8 thinner. Mounts look good and I'm glad that iyou can just go to any auto parts store and get a motor mount for a 92 dodge diesel.

If I were u guys I would of used ford 460 big block mounts they are much bigger then the 1st gen dodge ones and are almost the same but the 460 ones are 3 times as wide but I do like urs 93_fummins
