EasternAggie 11-07-2010 01:18 AM

Have fun man! Its not too bad with these 12v's

And sorry I'm not an expert in that 4wd/Tcase stuff

crewcab59 11-08-2010 05:44 PM

Im no expert eather but i believe they stopped that in the late 60's. most auto companies didnt make there own 4x4's then. like dana would just ad a transfer case and a frontend. I also believe you can take off that front piece on the case and locate an adapter and sleave and bolt it to your 518a. now that beeing said, that is an 86 and you do have a 518a trany 4x4 in cummins. I took the input shaft out and swaped it into the chevy 205 case and the out put YOLK INTERCHANGES ALSO. I couldnt find a larger yolk eather so if you do let me know. some of those divorced t-cases were dana 30 (i think) (30 or 35) if so im not sure those are interchangable. sorry about the jiberish Shane :humm:

bigford2000 11-16-2010 01:50 PM

no my trany is a 518 2wd going to my divorced tranfercase uses a short drive shaft

You should be able to have a driveshaft shop make you a custom unit. Or they might be able to suggest where to find a large yoke. You can also check the internet for shops that specialize in rock crawlers. They usually have a good line on custom yokes and such.

bigford2000 11-22-2010 10:53 PM

Got a lot done still have not made my mind up on a trans... Anyone have any input??:humm:

EasternAggie 02-23-2011 11:49 PM

Standard or auto?

If standard, do an NV4500, it'll bolt right up you'll just have to get the driveshaft stuff done.
Auto...... maybe a 47RH or comparable Dodge tranny? Not sure on that one.

Your divorced transfercase is it a np205 if so u can get the 1410 yoke for the front shaft it's the same as the rear on a np205 that's what I did. on a divorce np205 the input and out put shafts are both 31 spline if u look on my build under cummins 5.9 in a blazer u will see a pic I will get u the part number tomorrow it's made by spicer:tu:

---AutoMerged DoublePost---
