When I pulled my 7.3 out of my 95 Ford it was FROZE up tight, so I had to pull engine with EDO tranny all at once! I did disconnect the Transfer Case!

I had the hole front clip off and my fork lift to pull all that stuff at once! it was kinda like pullin a whale out from under a rock!

I took a measurement on cab height before and after and I gained almost 1.5 inches of "Lift" by putting in my 12V with a nv4500! I couldn't believe it.

Yours is looking real nice! :rocking::rocking:

What motor mounts are you using?
Keep up the great work.:c:

I'm using motor mounts that I built after seeing quite a few different setups. I wanted the torque going to the main frame rails & I liked the simplicity & ease of replacement of these isolators. The isolators are the same style that FordCummins uses, but I didn't like their motor mounts, especially since I could build them for 10% of the cost.

After chasing parts online & by phone most of the morning, it's off to the shop to finish wrestling the Cummins & G56 into the chassis. After trying to get them in together & then separate I quit for the night.
Today, I loosened the front body mounts & jacked it up 4"-5". Now they fit with room to spare (a little, anyway:pca1:)
Amazing!! The crossmember is PERFECT right where it is for the G56!!:jump:
After pulling measurements, I fabbed the motor mounts to go right to the frame on both sides. I'll finish welding them tomorrow & paint before final install. I checked spacing between the body & the G56. There is less than 1/2" clearance in a few spots, but everything clears. I should gain a bit when the Energy Suspension body mounts are in place.
Now I have to pull precision measurements for the Advance Adapter 50-0220 kit between the G56 & the BW4407 t/c. As it turns out, I only have to carve 1/2" off the input shaft on the t/c to make room for the AA 32-29spline spud shaft. Everything fits very nicely with that cut made.:tu:

Another morning 'wasted' chasing parts.
Painted a few small parts this morning. I'm really liking this 'Hammered' paint, it's tough & I like the look. I think the aluminum silver on the Cummins block & my chassis is going to end up love it or hate it. I really do like how it makes everything visible, at least during the build!

I got the Cummins sitting in place & the G56 mostly located. I'll wait to drill the crossmember until the engine is tied down for good.
I flipped the stock exhaust manifold to check turbo spacing both ways. It's REALLY tight in the stock location. I like the flipped manifold/high turbo placement, but I'll need a T3 spacer to clear the intake volute. I also mounted the industrial Ford F700 manifold to see how things would fit with it. It tucks the turbo very nicely, but the oil feed line extension & return line mod may be tough. Also, the downpipe will be twisty to go between the adapter plate & the frame.

Right now, I'm thinking stock manifold flipped upside down works best with all things considered.

I began cutting up the radiator support to fit my '00 Ford cooling components. There won't be much left of the 460 radiator support. I could get a '97 diesel radiator support for $100, but I figure I'll use what I've got first & see how it comes out. This one would never sell for $100 anyway!

It's looking like progress! I sure like seeing this 12V sitting in it's new powerhouse!

Morning spent chasing parts. Found all the IC tubing I needed as well as the intake elbow for my HX35!!:yeah:

Finish welded the motor mounts, prepped, & painted.
Spent all day chopping, fitting, & welding things back together. I began with the tougher assembly. After looking high & low at the different setups on F700 Ford trucks w/ Cummins & the various setups other Ford/Cummins conversions have used, I decided to go my own way. I cut off the AC mount from the lower water neck casting, welded it above the water neck (with a spacer). Then I cut a bit off the upper water neck alternator mount & raised the alternator on top of the water neck. After modifying the old upper alternator mount & adding a small stabilizer arm everything seems to fit great.
Next, I added a new mount for the belt tensioner below the lower water neck, flipping the tensioner 180* from where it was before.

Now all my wiring can run from the driver-side up to the alternator, all the AC hoses will stay on the passenger side, & I will should still be able to use a stock Cummins belt (although some shorter). It was tedious to line everything up so the belt tracks straight, & so that the whole assembly will bolt up. Lots of careful welding & cooling to keep it from warping. Now the upperwaterneck, alternator mount, AC mount, lower waterneck, & belt tensioner mount are all in one piece.
All in all, I was very happy with the results.

Later, when I was a bit tired, I cut apart the rag joint at the bottom of the Ford steering shaft & grafted in a u-joint from the top of another F350 steering shaft. Viola! A G-made 'borgeson' style steering shaft for 30 minutes of fab work & a $2 u-joint from my wrecking yard run!:jump:

Keep us posted when you get a chance and Spring is right around the corner! :jump::jump:

I'm building cummins powered 99 Super Duty for my son who lives in Helena so i will be doing a road trip that way this early summer to "break it in for him" !!! :w2:

Hey, sorry guys for being AWOL awhile. It has been cold here in NW Montana & I've had lots of extras on my plate since December '10 began.
Anyway, here's the progress & pics:

I finished reorganizing the accessories, especially the AC & found that a CAT belt from a 3406 i think was perfect (after buying, trying, & returning something like 12 belts to get it right!)
I finished fabbing up the brackets to mount the radiator, AC condensor, & IC just where I wanted them.

Finished priming & painting front frame horns, suspension, & axle.

Buttoned up the fenders, subframe, radiator, IC etc so I could move it from the Shop Mahal that I had for a few months back to my small garage @ home to finish up.

An awesome thing happened, I was able to borrow a friends '95 F350 CC Cummins (one of the first built by FordCummins in Kalispell, MT) to pull my project back to my garage.
