My 4BTAA Powered 4Runner

Here are some photos of my '94 4Runner that I recently converted to Cummins power. I installed a 4BTAA with an TH700R4 tranny and a STaK 3-speed tranfer case. The engine has been tweeked with an HX35 turbo, high performance injectors, 3200RPM governor spring, and turned up injection pump.

A 4BT weighs ~600 pounds - doesnt it?? What kind of frame beefing did you do?

The reason that I chose the '94 4Runner for the build was that the engine fits between the fully boxed frame rails without much modification. The frame was reinforced in key locations to deal with the extra weight.

Here is a link to the build thread:

I was just wondering where you purchased your 4btaa from?

I bought it from Tim O'Dell of Vice Stitches and 4X4 in Hickory, NC. It came out of a Chevrolet P30 bread van.

In October I traded the truck for a Porsche Carrera so the rig is now in Ronkonkoma, NY. The guy is using it as a daily driver and is getting 17mpg with the rig.:rocking:
