V10 swaped with 05 5.9L CR cummins
I have a 99 dodge ram 2500 that originally came with a V10 that i blew up, so i bought a wrecked 05 dodge ram 2500 with a commonrail cummins and swapped out the engine, tranny, transfercase, now i am down to the wiring, does anyone know the best route? i tried to use the complete wiring system out of the 05 but when it came to the dash harness it is completely different than the 99 dash harness.

:s: Good Luck :pca1:

Just a shot in the dark, but Painless Wiring Painless Performance: The Official Home Page For The Best In Automotive and Diesel Performance Products may have (or be able to make) an adapter to connect the two harnesses. They build all kinds of wiring kits for retrofit projects.

You are at least going to need the instrument cluster and possibly some other doo-dads from the '05. I'm not sure it will be a bolt-up propositin as far as the dash between the 2 is concerned.

It may be just better to swap the entire dash.

Automatic or manual?

its a automatic, i tried to swap out the whole dash but it not close at all, i think what i am going to do is get a complete dash out of a 99 dodge ram 2500 that came with a diesel and go from there. i figure if i put all the wiring including chassis harness, dash harness and grab a engine compartment harness, painless wirings cumming engine conversion kit will make it work.
