F350 Cummins conversion
 

Well I finally did it to my Siezed up turbo 7.3 idi. with an automatic and Jerked it out!!! I think it took me three days just to pull the engine and tranny. It was froze up so I had to pull them out as one unit!

I started laying down the FAT MAT in the cab and put my 245 19.5 tires and rims from my old 1992 dodge on the Ford! These tires make it ride like a "truck", but that is what I use it for. :moon:

how much that fat mat run you? when you get it going Id like hear if its worth putting in my truck:choochoo:

i bought the 80 mil fatmat rattle trap and it works exactly like dynamat does

From my other posts I have explained that "Time" is my big problem or obstacle! It took me most of the day to cut and weld up the down pipe ( 3" to 3.5 ). About three hours to just to weld up the turbo oil drain pipe and another hour plus just to install the vacuum pump/power steering pump. I'll post up pictures of how close my drivers side motor mounts are to the end of the pump! I talked my son into installing the FatMat on the floor, ceiling, firewall and behind the seat. I won't be able to hook up the pressure side of the pump, cause I need to adapt the dodge pump to the Ford stearing box.

You mentioned that the 19.5 wheels and tires "made it ride like a truck."

Could you say a little more about that?

I live out on a ranch and use the heck out of our truck, think one ton of hay for starters, but also put several hundred highway miles on in a typical week and have been thinking of getting some 19.5 Ricksons and Michelin XDE2+'s.

The Michelins that I run are H rated! I have put over 2 tons of hay on the flatbed of my dodge pickup and the tires didnt even look like they had a load on them. Of course I run about 80 psi. and I am using pilot tires front and back with single wheels. I got mine from Les Schwab and they are a big tire dealer out here in the north west! They wear like IRON, but they are HEAVY! They probably weigh about half again as much as a 265 16 inch E rated tire. You dont throw a spare in the back of the truck with out help or thinking about it! :nope::nope::nope:
I just put them on my Ford 350 4x4 from my dodge W350 and I had them on about a year on the Dodge. They will handle the load and the side wall doesn't flex and it even makes the truck Handle great on windy roads!:c::c:

Well I hooked up aftercooler and aircleaner today! I tried using a used clutch master cylinder, but I could not get it to hold pressure so off to O'Rielys to get a new one. Now all I have to do is finish building, or should I say rebuilding an old flatbed!

I'll get some pics of the engine compartment tomarrow!
