Tachometer Question on 6bt swap
I have a 1988 Chevy 1ton dually that we pulled the 454 out and put in a 96' 12valve and everything works like a champ except I cant figure out how to get a tach signal. I have a built 4l80e with the compu-shift which it has a wire that I can hook to somewhere on the motor an it would read the rpms but have no clue how I can get it to wire to the cranks sensor or where exactly I could hook it to get a signal. If anyone has any input please help.

dakota digital makes an aftermarket tac pick-up for diesel engines but it would work on virtually any engine it should make the signal you need. Not too expensive either like 100 bucks.

idk for sure what ur asking, but i know isspro, and autometer both sale aftermarket tachs for diesels

What Im asking is I have the crankshaft position sensor and the pig tail for it, and was wanting to try and tie my tach signal wire off of my compu-shift controller into it, but I have no clue the the 3 wires from the cps sensor pig go to .
