Dodge 1500 318-6BT Conversion
5 Attachment(s)
This isn't a dificult swap by any means. But I do want to put some of the pics up here so there is a bit of a record of my project. However, this was a bit more than just a conversion.
This truck started as a 95 2wd 1500 Dodge with a 318. It is now a Cummins powered, back halfed, 4 linked, tubbed, nitrous fed, caged beast. Here is a brief pictorial history. Attachment 60866 Attachment 60867 Attachment 60868 Attachment 60869 Attachment 60870 |

An air to air intercooler doesn't benefit me enough to justify the extra weight on the front end of the truck. If I were to use a liquid to air intercooler then I could justify it. But, the A2A doesn't have much effect on a 1/4 mile drag race. You only spend a couple of seconds going fast enough to get enough airflow through it to be of any benefit.
So, chemical intercooling wins out. Here's a new pic from the DFW Diesel Bombers GTG. Attachment 60564 And one Parked between No Problem's Chevy and my 06 Dodge. Attachment 60565 |
My GAWD that thing is SICK.. I would love to daily drive that bad boy!
