Allison automatic trans for Cummins
Have been gathering parts for a 12v 94-98 Cummins swap into a 1986 Chevy Blazer.D60 front, 14 bolt FF rear. Will be a DD, light towing, and snow plowing. Would like to know what Allison auto would be the best for swap, non electronic. I was told a Allison from a school bus would work? Any and all info will be areat help:humm:

Allison 545 is 4sp without od, i have seen several of these used in older conversions, it does not require an electronic controller, hope that helps..

^^^ What he said, but its gonna suck not having OD, especially if you have 4.10's or higher in the diff's.
A 1000 or 2000 would be your best fit, however you'd need a stand alone controller to run either of them. Honestly, you're much better off with a built 47RE/RH, because it'll fit what you have already. You won't be dropping $1K on an adapter setup. |

You should go with a built 47 I mean even Duramax guys like Buck and a couple other racers run them cause they break even whn built.

What? I can't even understand that...
Maybe you shouldn't speakup, you should speakclearly. |
I know some of the freightliner step van trucks like UPS uses have allisons bolted to the 5.9, not sure what the specs are on those though. I believe they are the 1000.
