There are alot of different numbers that come to mind when people ask this. You have so say what parts are you going to use? stock non stock?

pennsylvaniaboy 12-17-2008 07:35 AM

well this is what i want to use.......the cummins, a 5spd and the chevy transfer case. though looking on ebay the gm and dodges appear to have the same rear adapters. and forgive me folks this is my first diesel build

is it possible to just change the input to a dodge and get a dodge belhouse and use gm clutches with a dodge flywheel?

stkdram55 12-17-2008 07:37 AM

i dont believe so, i dont think a GM clutch holes match up with dodge flywheel, I would get the NV4500 rebuilt and use it in the chevy

The engine adapters are not the same. You can use a dodge cummins engine plate, a dodge cummins bell housing for the NV4500, use a dodge flywheel and a dodge clutch. You will have to change the input shaft and a kit can be located at Auto World. Really it isn't that bad. You can usually find the dodge parts used and it will save you some money so you don't have to buy the chevy plate. Because either way you have to get the dodge style flywheel and clutch.

Autoworld is a better conversion site and alot more knowledgable. Plus they have better quality parts that work.
