OM617 transplant wiring question

I am currently transplanting a 1985 om617 into my 1990 Jeep Comanche. I have looked through the forums and couldn't find a definitive answer to my question. When I wire up my engine do I simply remove all of the ecm wiring both in cab and under the hood. I want to clean up the engine bay. Just not sure if I can remove all the wiring including the tcm as well. (It had the 4.0 L6 with the AW4. Putting in the AX15 with the OM617) Thanks:scare2:

I am not too sure about a genI Comanche, but I would look closely at a wiring diagram before just wholesale taking all the wiring out. most likely there is some good stuff in there for engine instruments, volt meter, tach, that sort of stuff, plus aircon.
I know it is tempting to say I got a diesel and I don't need any wiring, but you may want to look before you cut.
on the gen II jeeps '97 and newer there is a lot of stuff that goes thru the PCM that most people want to keep.
have fun

I would use the oil sending unit, the temp sensor for the gauge, the wiring for the starter and alternator, ac compressor, the vehicle speed sensor, you need to find a wiring diagram to use what you need and remove what you dont
