700R4 behind Cummins
 
Anyone ever put a 700R4 behind a Cummins because i cant figure out the kickdown cable. We got the engine in it and the trans in it useing a kit but nothing for the cable.

It does not have a kick down cable, it has a throttle valve or "TV" cable which controls shift point and firmness through line pressure. If it has been run at all without this cable properly set (too loose) you will burn up the clutches and ruin the transmission within a couple miles. The Internet is chocked full of info on this. Some at most put them behind the 4BT. Few others have used them behind a small Caterpillar (Perkins made) engine.

the throttle valve geometry on the lever is pretty important too - found this from another site, maybe helpful...
