Kubota v2203 vs v1902

I am looking at buying a 1995 Thomas 173HLS II that has had its v2203 removed and the current owner got a v1902 off e-bay. Are the fly wheels mounts the same? What about exhaust? Try to see if Napa has any parts listing for either motor but no luck. Have not seen the unit yet as it is 5+hr away. I realize that I will have to run the RPM higher to get the same HP but not using is commercially - just around my 15 acres. Or would I be better off selling the v1902 and try to fix the v2203 (do not know what is wrong with it yet), what is a running v1902 worth?

Thanks for any info.

I am not positive but I believe the back of the block is different

The mount on the rear of the engine in different. If I remember correctly Thomas uses a heavy cast type mount/adapter on the rear so you have to use a 2203.

The rear seal housing is where the difference is, the 1702 & 1902 are smaller than the 2203's.

An idea how to get the wheel free so it can be pulled by a winch?

Option I am thinking about
1. remove the hydraulic lines or chains
2. tire dollies - I have 4 for a car. Probable easiest.

Looks like installing the new engine may be really easy. Thomas used a (2) U-join to couple the two parts together and not a clutch like most.

There's no way to make it roll you have to drag it. It won't hurt it to drag it onto a trailer. You really need a roll-back. And yes the engine is easy to get out.
