F-250 swap

Hi y'all,

I'm new here, so bear with me if I screw up.

So during the summer I live with my mom where I drive her stock '96 f-150, but during the year I live with my dad in the city, and I'm wanting a new truck. My old car that I kept at his place was hit by some drunk guy and is barely hanging on the life (the car, not the guy). So my dad has wanted me to get a truck just like my moms (btw, they're not divorced, he just lives in the city because of his job) and wants me to get one, which I'm Ok with, however I've always wanted to do a diesel swap on one to make it my own pet project. My dad agrees that a diesel swap would be awesome to drive.

So, being that I live in the city, I can't do my own engine swap. But, my dad has a friend who has done engine swaps on both my dads old Honda, and my brother's ford, so I trust him, so does my dad.

The problem I'm hitting is what engine to decide on. My grandma used to work for a powertrain company that worked on Detroit diesels and Allison transmissions only. So I have a special place for Detroits and Allisons in my heart. Most people would say just do A 4bt, or a 6bt swap, but I'm not really like that. I'm like making something unique that not very many people see. Which is why I don't want to do a cummins swap. If anything I really want to put in something like a 4v-71 or 6v-53T, but I haven't great notes about them besides longevity. Same thing With catepillar, long lasting but they suck at making power. Plus both would be hard to fit in, I'd assume.

So what I'm trying to get to here is what would be the best engine to swap out from a 92-96 f250? I'm looking for Torque and MPG.

Again, I'm new here, so be somewhat nice.

Thanks

Do what this guy did 453-T with twin stick, this thing is bad ass! Nothing like an ol Detroit screaming down the road.
