V2203 in a 4x4 S10 or Bravada info wanted
 

I have been studying the Kubota V2203 swap threads and can't seem to find this information so here goes.

I'm exploring the idea of installing a V2203 into a 2nd gen S10 4x4. I have found a few nice Olds Bravada candidates, with dead motors, cheap. I looked at the V8 swap information on the 4x4's. They have front suspension to oil pan issues. The V2203 has a deep block/pan. I was wondering if the Kubota pan could be made to clear the S10 4x4 crossmember/axle? The V6 GM factory pans have a passage hole through them. The V8 swap pans move a deep sump way back.

The Bravada is AWD. 1997 and prior transfer cases are not computer controlled. All Bravadas have automatic transmissions, which dependant on year may be computer controlled. (in a prior thread I asked some computer input questions)

Would I be asking the V2203 to do more than it could handle by powering a 4 door Bravada/Blazer AWD with an automatic transmission?

Some of the S10 guys are putting the Bravada and Astro AWD transfer case into their trucks, installing the same front axle setups, putting a 2 to 3" drop on them, adding wider street tires, and really getting some handling performance. They are super cornering and work on the drag strip. The computer controlled AWD doesn't work well for this. I am looking for an all weather daily driving vehicle with good fuel economy. I realize with Kubota power it wouldn't be a racer. I would not be opposed to lowering it a little to get it down out of the wind.

a 97 has a 460ld trans computer controlled you would need a 700r4 and the oil pan and the pick up tube would have to be heavily modified

I'm not sure but I think I can supply all the inputs the factory transmission controller needs. I don't believe it needs a MAP input. What did I miss?

I'm sure you could make it fit, a custom pan is most likely required. The front axle is probably close to the Ranger Rangmar has and the curb weight is similar, so I think yes. The auto trans is the only ? I am not sure of.

you need a bobcat oil pan and the 4.3 pan the 4.3 uses a small deep rear sump im lookin at the same deal but I have a 91 model the pickup tube will have to be modified to run to the deep sump it sounds like a lot of work but it is simple once you get started p.s. pull the rad. support it will help on getting your measurements

I just made the pan from scratch, I think it was easier than a patchwork pan.
