Swap candidate list?

Hey guys. I'm sort of new around here. I am fairly new to the world of conversions, but not new to the idea. I work on farm equipment and have some machine tools, welders, etc. at my disposal.

I read here on and off but finally plan to do a diesel swap soon, so I am starting my research. I was wondering if someone could point me toward some basic info. Is there a lists of common swap engines and vehicles?

I would also like to do some reading (if it exists) on how guys go about adapting small diesels to transmissions. This would include adapter plates, machining the flywheel if needed, etc.
Even just a list of things that need addressed here to get the wheels turning would be great.

I am not sure if this post thread goes here or not, but I couldn't find anywhere else to put it.
Any help is of course appreciated.

All of the reading exists, but you'll just have to read it thread at a time on sites like this one. You can't spend to much time just randomly reading through threads to what people used, how they went about and how it turned out.

What vehicle are you planning to use and what will you use it for?

That is what I figured. I am doing some extensive research and documenting what I find before I start the project. I am not sure what the first conversion will be, but it will probably be a daily driver, which would be a small pickup. I plan on looking for a manual 4wd ranger or a Toyota pickup.

I have also thought about doing a jeep conversion. Either a Wrangler or Cherokee with an Isuzu 4BD1 or2, or a 4BT. Possibly even an older Mercedes 5 cylinder.

I was tossing a feeler out to see if there was any kind of data available on what the most popular conversions were, etc. I also think a list of important things to consider before spending any money on a swap would be very helpful. I think this is something I could put together as I research- maybe it would help someone else.

There is enough info on this site to write several books

if you look up redveloce he put a Kubota in a wrangler and he put his adapter drawings up for people to copy
