1968 gmc 4500 12v conversion help

my boss bought a 1997 1 ton ext. cab long bed 4x4 for a song and set me to work tearing the cab and body off it, and placing his 68 gmc 4500 cab and flatbed on the frame. the cab is all bolted on the frame and drive shafts have been shortened 28 inches. fuel lines run, brake lines headlights tail lights blinkers the works.
my issue is, he doesn't want the pcm in the truck, doesn't want the clutter of the all the wiring harness, so I changed the alternator over to single wire so it will charge, and ive had the truck running and driving with no issues except the trans... on reverse and 1-3, no overdrive or TC lock. which I knew would happen. just looking for some ideas of how to gain him back the OD and TC without the computer. Any help would be huge! :tu:

Your going to need a stand alone transmission controller... assuming you are running a 4l80e transmission.

nope. Chrysler trans. the whole driveline from the dodge is still there in the frame were it has been since 97. I guess you would consider this more of a remount than a conversion, we just modified the dodge frame and body/cab mounts to accept the 68 gmc. we just dropped it right down over the 12v and tranny.
