need assistance
I have a 98 Chevy 1500 6.5 TD needless to say burnt a couple bearings oil line broke didnt notice anyways I can get a 6.5 from a 94-95 wondering if there's any difference if so what and if it will work and what not ..I'm new to diesels also thanks for looking
I thought the 94 had a mechanical pump, not total for sure though.:humm:
no it's electronic got it done runs good but every once and a while if u try passing someone after a certain speed it puts the motor into limp mode and until it cools down or the computer resets (not sure what one) it acts like the turbo ain't working :scare2:
Did you swap all the '98 jewelry and electronics to the '94? If not, that could be your issue.
all the jewlery was swapped over except the power steering pump but that shouldn't matter
convert it to a cummins!
why would I waist my time putting something ford owns and builds into my Chevy?:argh:
Funny cause ford doesn't make a cummins, your misinformed ... Just so you know, ford owned shares several years ago, had to sell em... Now here is the surprise, cummins owns navistar. incase you didn't know that's the company that makes/made power strokes .... Cummins also owns Allison and a large chunk of gm.... Do your research
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Off topic sorry |
The No 1 Reason for a Cummins is it is just a much better Engine. But it would not be cheap.
There is a reason that you see so many people putting a Cummins into there ride and not some other engine. |
Jester is right, but a running 12v can be had for 1200ish and companies make adapters for both 480le and 460le for about $80... Patc makes a good one, used theirs on an H1 cummins conversion
I know guys off topic I'll stop with this post before it morphs |
