Possible S10 Blazer Build

So I have been reading through the forums for a couple of months now and have found lots of great information on here. I have been thinking about this build for a while now and would like to get some input. What I want to build is a reliable first gen S10 Blazer (I like the square body style) for driving back an forth to work and to be able to take anywhere in the country at any time. I found a cheap two door blazer 4x4 with a great body and an old tired engine. My plan is to straight axle it to get rid of the weak front suspension components and swap in a V2203 DI Kubota. Im not looking to build anything fast just want good gas mileage and reliability. My biggest question is will the V2203 be enough to push the Blazer at highway speeds once i add a turbo or should I go with something else like the Cummins 3.3. Mechanical injection is preferred but not necessary. Any input/ideas/information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, there are plenty of examples out there now of this motor in 4x4 rigs. There is plenty of power, but the mpg,s tend to suffer with weight and aero. You said you want to sas it so that means it will be lifted = mpg drop. The motor is not heavy so changing the front suspension isn't necessary. Sounds like a great project.

I will be starting a 3.3 Cummins swap on my Dad's '95 Zr2 in a month or two and will doing a build thread on it on S10forum.com if your interested in seeing how it goes. It will be getting a SAS also afterwards with very little lift.
