chevy cummins conv

Hello all I am new to this site and to diesel's together I have a 93 chevy k3500 and just scrapped the 6.2 that left me stranded I bought a running p pump Cummins to swap I have the nv4500 tranny. Would it be better to use the Cummins clutch fan orget a fan from a Taurus and use a thermostat. Also and this might sound really dumb but do I need a fuel pump or does the injection pump pull from the tank.... I have tons more???? But that will do for now. Thanks for any input

The injection pump won't feed itself very well. HOWEVER, lower-down on the same side of the block, about 3/4-way back you'll find the mechanical "lift" pump that sends fuel thru the filter to the IP, and to the return-line. Quite likely you'll need electric fan. The engine will want its intercooler. Your truck got A/C? When we did my son's Ramcharger, we went from a non-air-conditioned 360-powered automatic-trannied situation to I/C, A/C and much bigger radiator. That whole sandwich was kidnapped from a 1996 truck, and was too thick to fit between the grille and the fan. Even then, we had to "hog out" the rear (invisible) part of the grille.

The donor truck does not have ac.... and its a full donor truck minus the tranny. so I just hook the lift pump up to the fuel line some power and maybe a switch in the cab? And what about motor mounts. Anyone have any good suggestions for that... can I take the dodge mounts and bolt/weld them in once the engine is bolted to the mounted tranny?
