If you were going to convert my 94 f350 cclb to a tand axle where should I start? I would like both axles to be working. Any help or opinions are greatly appricated.

buy an old military (cummins powered of course) duece and a half

trash the body it comes with

buy another bed like yours

combine the 2 beds into 1 with 2 wheel openings per side in the proper locations

install your cab and new xtra long bed onto deuce chassis (some fab work required)

start enjoying pulling down trees, houses, former places of employment, etc

I've thought about that but I don't want it to be that heavy and the gearing on those axles are really low.

what do you plan to do with the finished product?just assumed it was going to be a "toy" when its done...

Yea it's going to be a toy but I'll probably pull a trailer with it once a month or so.

Didn't there used to be a company/basement enterprise that made drive boxes that mounted to the pinion support of a Corp 14 bolt axle and allowed an up-and-over driveshaft to be run to a following drive axle? Might be worth some searching... :humm:

There was also an article in Diesel Power Magazine where guy claimed to have done several 6x6 pickup renditions with a transfer box mounted just ahead of the lead rear drive axle...

tell me more about that because I have been interested in converting a class C or A motor home to 6 or 8 wheel drive, for remote camping in Alaska.

The only company I can find info on was usa6x6.com and they aren't around anymore.

Interesting, but im having 1 helluva time trying to picture that!.....would require a 2nd box at the 2nd axle 2 i guess......shaft over top as well......might as well put toploaders in it

In the ones I saw, the box bolted to the lead drive axle and the following drive axle had the pinion angled up to accept the up-and-over shaft, accepting the compound angle in the driveline.

The discontinued USA 6x6 version:
