I think it's been done more than we realize, as most guys re-powering don't or didn't have the internet ;)

The engine in my son's f100 is out of an IH 715 combine.
Being more of an industrial type engine, the powerband is narrow and the redline is low, so something more than a four speed tranny is necessary.

i think it would be cooler if no one had before.

Some if not most of the industrial/picker engines are set to run at a set rpm and it may be less than a safe max rpm. The injection pump will have a low rpm set screw and a max rpm set screw. You may be able to get more rpm which would equal more road speed.

I have seen all kinds of farm engines in pickup's when I was younger and lived in Ar. Poor people have poor ways.

Do you plan on using truck on road for longer trips than to the feed mill or pulling hay home?
