Late to the party as usual. The 7.3L will be too heavy for a 1/2-ton truck of any kind. If you are dead set on a 6BT or 7.3L, I would recommend going with a 3/4-ton or better; otherwise, I think you'll be happy with a 4bt in your 1/2-ton. The only conversion I have done is a gas to 6BT Cummins in a Dodge Ram 2500, and it was pretty seamless as far as conversions go. Good luck with your project. Ive done a 5.9 commonrail into a 150 and it holds up just fine it did a lot of off road work haul fire wood out of the bush for the last five years with no sign of cracking and I spoken to a bloke that has put a power stroke into a Bronco

Thread hadn't been updated in over 2 years... but for the numbers, the difference in front end parts on my 7.3 F250 and my 5.8 F150 (97,95) is the upper ball joint. The lower bj, steering linkage, radius arm stuff, and frame are the same. Obviously, the springs are not the same. The trucks are 2wd so there's no comparing apple to apple, but my Bronco has a Dana 44 in the front and I'm pretty sure it won't fall out just because there's a PSD in there. There's plenty of big block huge torque Broncos running a 44 in the front. Your mileage may vary - all depends on application. I wouldn't select it for hotshotting a loaded 40 foot trailer but for a daily driver / light tow? Shouldn't be a problem imo.

I have a 1999 f150 single cab full bed 4.2 V6 and i want to put a diesel in. Just not too sure what to put in there. Im looking along the line of 6.7 powerstroke or something along those lines. What would be the best option in y'alls opinion and what would be the average cost.

Gday mate I had a 90mod 150 that had a EFI 351 with the ZF S5-42 manual gear box and I put a 2003 5.9 cummins common rail in front of the ZF its lighter than the power stroke and you have more room around the engine to work
It went really well was a shame I had to sell it (not enough seats for the family)

Do a 12 valve, best engine ever made. :choochoo:

i found a 94 f350 with a 7.3 turbo diesel in it, In spectacular condition but the lady don't have a title and i have a 88 f150 with a 302 with a stuck cylinder and in stead of rebuilding it and putting it back in my f150 i want to put the diesel in it what all has to be change and modified
