Wanting to drop a Cummins into a '77 Econoline

Does anyone know if a 1994 12 valve Cummins will fit into the engine bay of a 1977 Ford Econoline van? I have the engine in a wrecked truck, and the van which currently has a 351W gasser in it. I know that the vans came with both a 300 I-6 and a 460 V-8.

I want to be able to tow a camp trailer with the van. (the wife needs a power scooter to get around...so I need the van to haul it.) The van does all right running around empty, but it has almost enough power to pull a greased stick out of wet mud. lol

If this will not fit, I will probably go with a 6.5 litre GM. I am pretty sure that this will fit, but I would rather have the Cummins in it if there is enough room.

Thanks!

You might be able to put the Cummins in the back and the scooter under the hood :w2:

There is a guy in Colorado that swapped a 12v in his motorhome that has the econoline chassis, it fit nicely. His build is over on 4btswaps, his user name is Joz I think.

FTE,

Found one, the guy with the Flair motorhome? Was talking about swapping in both a 4bt and a 6bt?

I wish I knew if the engine bay dimersions are the same/similar from '77 and '90.

Thanks for pointing me at that build! :c:
