cummins fuuel priming. isues

1st. Please. Pardon spelling I am posting from my phone. I have my cummins in a ford and its been running fine. My fuel selector switch and valve were working fine till Tuesday. I diagnosed my problem, and set it up for front tank. Ran a tank trough that way no problem. Like an idiot I switched to. Rear tank realized it ten back to front. My return is now being sent to my. Rear tank. Now overfull and my front tank I was sucking from ran dry. I was trying to use the manual fuel pump to reprime the motor and that seems like it needs to be primed, it does not seem to be. Oving anything, and yes I cracked the low pressure Fuel line as per y dodge service manual. What should I do as a bleeding procedure to get the manual pump to work, any hints tips or tricks? Thanks in advance

Tough to answer this since you have a cobbled together truck.

You can open the bleed screw at the fuel filter and use a compressor (turned down to 5 psi max), to pressurize the tank (use a rag around your air nozzle or better yet drill and tap another fuel cap) and push fuel to the bleed screw on the fuel filter. Close the bleed screw and you should have plenty of fuel to your injector pump.

If that doenst work you will need to start cracking injector lines to bleed out the air.

Yes I know that....you can still pressurize the tank and lines to the fuel filter.

Just trying to give you some ideas

once I have fuel to the filter is there anything left to prime? Is it a turn over 30 seconds at a time till it fires?

once you get fuel to the filter you still might have to crack inj lines while cranking the truck.:hellox:
