cummins oil leak left side of block
I have a 2000 Dodge 3500 4WD
I have an oil leak coming from the left side of the block. It seems to be coming from somewhere next to the injector pump on the block itself. I've looked into the seal of the power stearing pump and that looks okay. The leak seems pretty high up and I can't find diagrams that show what is in there that could be causing this. It has been a slow leak for some time now, but last week started leaking badly. Any ideas on what is up there? ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- upon further investigation, it's coming from behind the heat shield/blanket on the block to protect the ECM and the injector pump. I can't see behind those without removing everything to get the shields off |
Are you sure its not your breather tube/ breather bottle? You are supposed to empty it every oil change and alot of people dont know to do that on these trucks. If your bottle becomes too full it will overflow and the fan will blow oil all over the front of the motor. Mine came off so i extended the breather tube. Hope this helps. :c:

I figured it out. There is a side cover to the block way in there. I will have to remove the injection pump, fuel/water separator, lift pump, ECM, and injector lines to get to it. Maybe even the power stearing pump. We'll see. I've got everything but the two pumps off and it got dark. . . . . . .
