2008 Ford F550 6.4 wrecker, no start!

Hey guys... we have a wrecker with 25k on her. She started running rough and had no power and wouldn't do over 30mph. Changed the fuel filters.... solid dirt. Horrid amounts of dirt! We cleaned everything out including an 1/8th inch layer of dirt in main pump filter.
After all this it still had no power... now upon moving it to our rack to look it died on us and no longer starts.
it also had tons of water in it. The big guy drove it forever with the water light on.
We have fuel to the high press pump but on cranking out modus scanner shows no change in the high pressure rail pressure then throws a code for low pressure in high pressure rail.

Help guys?

somthing i found on a diff site.......take the strator core out of the valve on the fuel cooler, put a fuel line hose on it and cycle the key on and let the pump run til I had no air coming from it.......2 5 gallon buckets later no more air bubbles, put the core back in, turn cycled the key 10 times and it fired right up.

The truck is obviously junk right? I mean it's definitely the trucks fault that it didn't change it's own fuel filters and drain the water from the system.

Sounds like someone was using very poor quality fuel, add to that the complete lack of maintenance. That, or someone intentionally sabotaged the truck.

My guess, this is going to be a very expensive repair. If the filters were that bad you can bet there is more damage there.

I wouldn't be surprised if the entire fuel system needs to be replaced.

Has anyone dropped and drained the tank yet? Where does all this "dirt" come from?
