2002 7.3 litre rough idle/no power
 

I have a 7.3 excursion. The filter plugged and the bypass check valve was stuck. All o-rings and seals started leaking profusely. The check valve body warped and the bowl float spring bent. I have changed out all the components and a whole new check valve assy. I cleaned out the bowl and installed a new filter and all compression seals at all lines. I replaced the drain valve as well as it would not seal. I test drove all speed ranges. Ran great, now will go to rough idle and no acceleration. If I shut down and restart the problem will go away. Have no idea because it is not constant. Please help.

Check the fuel pressure.

It could also be the HPOP on the way out.

Doubtful...

It hasn't happen for a couple days, and gets about 50 miles a day. Could all that junk from the fuel filter body have been getting into the injectors?

If filter was that clogged remeber u have socks in the tank could b gettin cloged causin loss of fuel pressure, just replaced my pump damn thing still wouldn't run cleaned socks rollin like a bat outta hell

U have to drop the tank pull the sendingunit and its in a whit plastic housing I just left em out an putan inline filter between tank an frame mounted pump, I've got a couple pics of what they look like n what minehad in em lemme see if I can upload em
