6.0 EGR issue???

I have a 2003 F-250 and as im sure you all know theyre notorious for the EGR issues that they have. I was told by a mechanic that my EGR is probably stuck open. Now ive heard of these problems before but ive never heard of a problem of the truck just up and dying. My father was driving my truck back and forth to work while i was handling some stuff for the military and the day before i got home as he was on his way to work, my truck just died on him. Now im home and my truck is sitting in a parking lot down the road from where i work currently. So whats the deal is this also an EGR related problem or is something else wrong? Any insight on the matter would be greatly apprecieted. This truck is my baby and i want her back.

i'm gonna say thats not an EGR problem, i would check the high pressure oil pressure first off....min around 500psi to start

I got it towed to a shop last night to have it looked at, but i also started it and it started weird and the whole truck was shaking. It sounded like it was gonna die but it didnt and once it warmed up it stopped but i did notice that the turbo wasnt whistling at all so it didnt spool up. So you think my EGR and my oil pressure might be off?
