91 d250 leaking fuel

my truck is leaking fuel from what appears to be a vent hose at the top of the pump.... any ideas of how to fix?

If you are talking about the injector pump the only cure is a rebuild. There is an o-ring in the pump that seals the pin from the boost compensator and the pump has to be torn apart to get at it. If you are handy and careful you could reseal the pump yourself but it might be better to find a good injector repair shop.

Most of the info I found is about the VW pump but the internals are about the same. It just has 2 less injector feed ports. Do a search for bosch VE pump rebuild info and you should be able to find all you need. I rebuilt the pump in our 92 and it is not too hard. The most important thing to remember is to be careful with the adjustment screws so you can put them back in the same place they were, I put a drop of super glue on the lock nuts so they wouldn't accidentally be moved when I was removing the screws from the pump and had no trouble with it at all.

One other thing is the throttle lever. It is splined to the shaft and when you remove the retainer nut be sure to carefully mark the spline position. If you miss by a spline it will change the idle speed which can be changed and corrected after the pump is on the engine.
