no boost

ok so were coming home from the lake, pass a trailer fine but after that my gauge reads 0 and it wont spool and make the truck go real fast anymore. i checked all the hoses and cant find a leak so i figure the gauge should atleast read something, it wont smoke in 4th or 5th anymore ether

please and thanks

You may want to take the air filter assembly off and make sure your turbo spins freely and doesn't have excessive play.

diesleguy 07-11-2011 10:27 PM

ive done that i can still hear the turbo whistling but im thinkin the line that pushes air into the afc has popped off or something like that?. its bien to raininy to go out there

daveO 07-12-2011 01:19 AM

That's definitely a possibility.

Blow an intercooler boot?

diesleguy 07-12-2011 07:53 PM

k so everything looks like it should be working all my intercooler boots are connected (if they had just a small leak wouldnt i still read some boost?) the wastegate is pluged and the steel line running from the accuator is still connected to the T on the afc housing

any idears??

please and thanks

is my next step test the accuator with compressed air?

daveO 07-12-2011 10:50 PM

It depends on the size of the tear. If it's a small pinhole, then yes, you should still be seeing at least some boost. You could build yourself a pressure tester and check the whole system.

Here's a link on how to build a pressure tester.

i will do that. i sure hope its a busted boot cuz i have no other ideas what it could be

thanks for your help
