7.3 powerstroke no power

i have a 97 power stroke that has no power.
i have:
changed oil and filter
changed fuel filter
changed air filter
pulled injector connectors and had a definite change in idle with each disconnect.
turbo spins but does not wind up and i do not have any boost pressure at any rpm.:argh:

Does the turbo wiggle? Excessively? Did you look at the exhaust side of the turbo?
How about the internal waste-gate? It's not called a waste-gate, I'm having a brain fart on the real name. Have you scanned your truck for codes? Are you experiencing high EGTs? And is your truck smoking? If it is, what color?

rustin
thanks for the reply
no wiggle in the turbo i am not sure what u mean by looking at the exhaust side.the ebpv operates and i have disconnected the actuator and wired it open and closed with no change.no smoke and i don't know if egt is high i don't have a gauge.
also no codes

How many miles on this truck? When you unplugged the injectors, did you have the valve covers off and unplug each injector one at a time? If you unplug an injector and it starts knocking on that injector, it is fine. You want to look for the one that has the least change when unplugged...

Have you gotten a CEL yet?

no power

the truck has 249,000 miles.when i checked the injectors i had the valve covers off and unplugged them 1 at a time.each time i unplugged one the engine changed sound and the change seemed to be the same all 8.sorry for my ignorance but i do not know what a "cel" is.

CEL is short for Check Engine Light

Your UVCH should be fine then if they all had a reaction to being unplugged. CEL = Check engine light.

Do you have a boost gauge on the truck? Sounds like an issue with your turbo if you aren't producing boost driving down the road. Does the truck smoke when you are driving? What color?

i removed the cat converter and all is well.truck runs good and i am getting boost pressure.

Glad to hear it. Thanks for letting us know what the issue was.

Man that thing must have been clogged. PawPaw actually had the same problem with his truck, just remembered.
