i recently just bought my 97 powerstroke its a f350 4 door long bed 4x4. when i bought it the guy said it had been sitting for about three years. so i got it where i can work on it and the dang thing wouldnt turn over well after a month of serching i found a aftermarket alarm system i ripped it out and connected all the pcm wires back to the ignition switch. i did an oil change and put fresh diesel in the back tank (didnt drain out old oil yet). So after all that the truck would crank but not start and so i left it for a week while i did my wheels and tires. went out today to return to my motor problem and now the wts light only comes on for about a secound but when i turn the key on there is a buzzing sound that is loud i let it buzz jumped out and felt the fuse box under the hood vibrating so bad relay? as it buzzes the cel comes on and then sometimes will stop buzzings cel goes off then the wts light for half a sec. then i go to try to crank it and nothing! the water in fuel, fuel filter, and engine temp light all come on. Need some serious help lol this is my dream truck and its kickin my ass!

I do know that these trucks had a problem with the cam sensor, I think they even had a recall on it.

if the cam sensor is bad, your truck will crank, but will not start; the other problem with these engines, they are desighned off the caterpillar injection, if you hpop is not working, your injectors will not spray fuel at all, the other cause that I have seen with these truck; the back fuel tank sometimes get loose wires to the pump inside the tank, that will cause no fuel to reach the bowl.

If I remeber correctly, I had one that wouldnt start because the fuel bowl was leaking, if it is leaking you will smell fresh diesel and see in between the block, there should be fuel sitting on top.

check battery's, make sure they have enough amps to start it.

hope this will point you in the dirrection to get BIG FOOT running.

Have you pulled any DTC's? That'll help a lot.
