1997 f350 turbo diesel turns over but won't start
my 1997 7.3 powerstroke turns over but won't start. changed fuel filter and cps. still no start. had check engine light when it quit running but i think it cleared when i disconnected battery. was running real rough and finally quit. i restarted it a few times but it would stall almost immediately. fuel is getting to closet. no smoke. wait to start light comes on and tach moves while turning over. any help appreciated.
Had it scanned today. Got the following codes: P0603-Internal control module KAM error. p0344 Cam Position Circuit Intermittent. P0470 Exhaust Pressure Sensor Circuit. P1668 PCM-IDM Diag communication error. HELP!!! I miss my truck!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Check the wires going to your IPR and the pigtail. Look under my no start thread for more information.

---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I have done the following to the truck. Replaced cps checked uvch cleaned screens coming out of fuel closet tried starting with ipc unplugged fuel pressure is 40 psi while cranking checked back of IDM - no water no smoke while turning over starts with ether then dies get cps intermittent code. could the new cps be no good? any help greatly appreciated. |
Is there oil in the HPOP res?
Stop using Ether, It's going to do more damage than good. |
sounds like the idm took a dump on ya last one we had like that we tried a used idm on to test it and that was the problem so it got a new one, it had the same idm codes you have
|
worked on a 96 F350
first proble why it would start (it would turn over) battery's were not giving all amps then after fresh battery's the glow plugs were bad along with the glow plug relay, we also had to replace cam sensor, after replacing all of those, it started. if your cam sensor is bad, it will not start. |
Any news?
